Polylactic Acid 1000 mg is a biostimulator developed by the Korean laboratory REGEN Biotech, using globular particles of polylactic acid (PLA). PowerFill is a class III medical device, intended for implantation to enlarge the penis in men with a micropenis and to correct lipodystrophy in the body area (buttocks). The procedure must be performed exclusively by qualified medical personnel in a medical facility.
Mechanism of action
Polylactic acid causes irritation and activation of fibroblasts, triggering the process of neocollagenesis. The newly formed collagen creates a dense scaffold that increases tissue volume at the site of application. The product biodegrades in the body within about one and a half to two years, without requiring surgical removal.
Composition and material safety
The material from which PowerFill is made is considered safe and hypoallergenic. Polylactic acid in the PLLA/PDLA form is a biodegradable substance that breaks down in the body after fulfilling its function. As a result, no undegraded polymers remain in the tissues that could cause chronic problems.
