DIVES Med. Art. Grade Premium are Korean threads for skin redermalisation and thickening. Made from polydioxanone of suitable quality and safety confirmed by the CE and KFDA medical certificates. The thread is built from a single PDO fibre joined to a comfortable boat-shaped cannula that ensures safe and easy implantation. Thanks to the cannula, the procedure reduces the risk of bruising and tissue damage.
How do PDO threads work?
Polydioxanone (PDO) is a synthetic fibre that fully dissolves in the tissue over time. It has been used in the production of skin and subcutaneous sutures, which is why it has been used in medicine for many years. The idea of using PDO threads in aesthetic procedures started in Korea and quickly became popular worldwide. The procedure involves inserting PDO threads under the skin (in selected areas) using a very fine needle. After insertion the needle is removed and a dressing is applied to the skin. The treatment creates a kind of scaffold around which the body begins the process of neocollagenesis (production of new collagen fibres), stimulation of fibroblasts to increased elastin synthesis, and synthesis of endogenous hyaluronic acid. After the procedure the skin becomes more supple, firmer and more elastic.
