How does the Derma Roller work?
The Derma Roller uses miniature needles to puncture the skin, creating microscopic channels. These micro-injuries start and speed up the production of collagen and elastin, slowing skin ageing and increasing the penetration into the dermis of the nourishing substances that we apply. The main job of the device is to remove dead epidermis and loosen the bonds between its cells while stimulating the living layers of the skin. This leads to increased blood flow in the skin and stimulates fibroblasts to synthesise collagen and elastin. Each further treatment gradually reduces the depth of scars. All epidermal damage, even the smallest, activates the self-renewal process. With age, the skin's ability to self-renew decreases, which can be seen for example in wounds that heal more slowly. Regular micro-perforation of the epidermis is a safe way to stimulate skin regeneration, and the result is a thickening of the skin.
Before each treatment the skin should be cleansed and dried. You can then start rolling the epidermis about 10 times in each direction (right, left, up, down, diagonally). The whole treatment should last 3 to 10 minutes, depending on how intensively you roll. To boost the effect of the treatment you can additionally apply an anti-wrinkle serum or another nourishing product. After the treatment, disinfect the derma roller with a fluid or wash it under running water.
Even after the first treatment your skin will be noticeably firmer and stronger. After an intensive course of treatments you will get firmer and younger looking skin. The full result is visible after 24 hours. The number of treatments needed for maximum effect depends on the individual condition of the skin.
Treatments can be carried out after applying a numbing ointment, according to the client's comfort. You should expect pinpoint bleeding on the skin surface and small scabs after the treatment. The treatment can be carried out using saline. Rollers should be used by one user only.
