CALCIPAST Cerkamed is a specialist calcium hydroxide paste for the temporary filling of root canals and the protection of deep cavities during endodontic treatment. The product has a strong antibacterial action and supports the regeneration of periapical tissues, which is key to effective intraoral therapy.

Strong antibacterial action and support for regeneration

The high concentration of calcium hydroxide in CALCIPAST Cerkamed, combined with ingredients that support mineralisation, provides a strong antibacterial action. The high pH of the product (12.5 to 13) effectively inhibits bacterial growth and creates conditions that favour repair processes in the canal. In addition, hydroxyapatite supports natural mineralisation processes, and calcium hydroxide releases calcium ions, which play a key role in the regeneration of the apical area and the healing of inflammatory lesions.

Easy application and full radiographic control

The non-hardening consistency of CALCIPAST Cerkamed paste makes it significantly easier to apply and to remove, which increases comfort and precision of work. The presence of barium sulphate provides high radiographic contrast, so the material is clearly visible on X-rays. This allows an accurate assessment of its placement in the canal, which makes it easier to monitor and guide the therapy. The release of calcium ions after application supports the formation of secondary and reparative dentine, benefiting the protection and rebuilding of the pulp.

Area of use

  • intraoral, in root canals and deep cavities
Full ingredients (INCI)Calcium hydroxide: the active substance responsible for the remineralisation of hard tissues, providing calcium ions that play a key role in regeneration and in the healing of inflammatory lesions, and providing high pH Hydroxyapatite: supports natural mineralisation processes, contributing to the rebuilding of tooth tissue Barium sulphate: responsible for high radiographic contrast, allowing the material to be seen on X-rays and its placement to be monitored Excipients: provide the soft, non-hardening structure of the material, making application easier
