Alustat gel is a haemostatic product intended for fast and effective control of minor gingival bleeding in dental procedures that require a clean, dry and clearly visible working field. The product acts locally, causing constriction of blood vessels and reduction of gum swelling, which allows precise prosthetic and conservative treatments.
Gel consistency for precise and controlled application
Compared with Alustat in liquid form, the gel version has a different consistency, which affects how it is applied and how the product behaves on the tissue surface. The gel stays in place where it is applied without running off, so it can be applied at specific points and used in areas requiring precise access, such as gingival pockets or the area of the preparation line. This difference results solely from the physical form of the product and does not affect its intended use or the composition of the active substance. The gel form provides extended contact time with the tissue and limits the risk of running off, which is especially beneficial during gum retraction.
Effective haemostatic and astringent action
The product contains 25% aluminium chloride, which has an astringent and vessel-constricting action, ensuring stable haemostasis and a dry working field. The local action reduces gum swelling, making access to the preparation margins easier and improving visibility during prosthetic and conservative work. Thanks to controlled application, the gel stays where it is applied, allowing precise control of bleeding without the need to reapply the product several times.
Versatile use in prosthetics and conservative dentistry
Alustat gel has wide use in prosthetics: during the taking of prosthetic impressions with bleeding gums, the placement of restorations near the margins and gum retraction, where the gel form does not flow out of the pocket and makes access to the preparation line easier. In conservative dentistry the product is used during the preparation of cervical cavities and composite restorations in the marginal area, in situations where bleeding hinders proper adhesion of the material. The convenient syringe form with applicators allows precise and hygienic dosing of the product.
Area of use
- oral cavity, gingival tissues and mucous membranes around the preparation line and prosthetic margins.
