APHRODITE, Mono P(LA/CL) Threads are professional threads intended for skin revitalisation and the reduction of wrinkles and skin folds. This is a single thread on a needle. The mono type is recommended for beginner users and as part of more complex compositions together with other threads. Effects last up to 1.5 years. What makes these needles special is the combination of two active substances in the threads, polycaprolactone PCL and polylactic acid PLLA.
How do PCL and PLLA threads work?
Polycaprolactone (PCL) and polylactic acid are synthetic polymers that completely dissolve in the tissue after a set period of time. The idea of using PCL and PLLA threads in aesthetic treatments originated in Korea and quickly gained popularity worldwide. The treatment involves inserting the thread under the skin (in selected areas) using a very fine needle. After insertion the needle is removed and a dressing is placed on the skin. The treatment creates a kind of scaffold, around which the body begins the process of neocollagenesis (production of new collagen fibres), stimulation of fibroblasts to increase elastin synthesis, and the synthesis of endogenous hyaluronic acid. After the treatment the skin becomes springy, taut and elastic.
